Process
01. DISCOVERY CALL & INITIAL SITE CONSULTATION
The process begins with a 20-minute discovery call. This is a quick opportunity for the client to provide our team with details of the project and goals and to determine if STUDIO HA/WA is a good fit for the project.
Every STUDIO HA/WA project starts with a paid in-person design consultation and site visit. This includes a comprehensive site review and a chance for the client to provide our team with their preferences and goals to determine the finalized scope of work.
Following the consultation, the client will be provided with a detailed contract to review and sign to move forward with the design project.
02. CONCEPT
Upon signing the contract, our team will perform an in-depth research and information-gathering process of all pertinent information required to commence the project. This may include but is not limited to: a request for existing architectural drawings, site measurements, meeting the project team and photo documentation of the existing or proposed space.
Our team begins the design process by preparing an initial concept presentation, which sets the tone and direction for the entire design project. The presentation will include image/mood boards, a general finishes pallet, preliminary space and furniture plans, and 3d views for key areas to provide visual direction to the client. Despite the design being preliminary in nature and evolution, this phase of planning is fundamental to our process and proceeding into design development.
03. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
During this phase, our team implements the design concept for all areas of the project and will further develop the overall project through an interior design drawing package. This may include but is not limited to: plans, key elevations, millwork, architectural finishes, details, and preliminary furniture, lighting, hardware and plumbing specifications.
04. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
In this final phase of the design drawing process, our team will produce a fully documented package for the project team for construction. This may include, but is not limited to: the final interior drawing package, architectural finishes, and final hardware, plumbing, and lighting specifications.
05. FURNITURE & DECOR
Once construction is underway our team will prepare a final specification package of all furniture, including custom furniture drawings, rugs, decorative lighting and accents to complement the design.
06. CONSTRUCTION COORDINATION & PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We work together with the project team throughout the construction process to ensure our vision of the space comes to fruition. Through the process of reviewing shop drawings, site visits, coordination with trades, tracking deficiencies and problem-solving site conditions, our team can ensure that all details, large or small, remain consistent with the design intent.
07. PROCURMENT & STYLING
Upon client approval, all furniture and decor items will be procured on the clients’ behalf in preparation for installation.
Our team will source the decorative accents (accessories, textiles, books, and decorative objects) to ensure your space feels complete, unique and cohesive.
08. INSTALLATION
Our team will manage and coordinate the final installation of all furniture, artwork and styling in preparation to present the finished space.
